Nexus Inlay Creation was started in 2025 to connect Udaipur’s skilled marble inlay artisans with customers across India and around the world. We don’t keep ready-made stock — every piece is made to order, designed around your space and made by hand.

The craft

Marble inlay, the traditional way.

Marble inlay — also called pietra dura or parchin kari — is the art of setting coloured, semi-precious stones into marble. It is the same craft seen in the Taj Mahal and other Mughal monuments, made with marble from Makrana in Rajasthan.

The artisans we work with learnt this craft from their families. The hands that cut and set our stones have done it for years, and that experience shows in every finished piece.

How we work

Made by hand, start to finish.

Every pattern is drawn to scale, chiselled into marble by hand, and filled stone by stone. Nothing is printed or mass-produced.

Design

We plan your pattern to scale and agree the stones, marble, and size.

Engrave

The design is chiselled into the marble by hand with diamond tools.

Cut & set

Each stone is shaped to fit its groove exactly and set by hand.

Polish

The surface is polished to a smooth, natural shine, then checked.
